How to Change Your App's Slug

When you create an app on our platform, it automatically gets a slug. Think of the slug as the “nickname” that shows up at the end of your app’s web address (URL). For example:

koder.com/apps/my-cool-app

In this example, my-cool-app is the slug.

Changing the slug is useful if you want your app’s link to look cleaner, match your project name better, or just be easier to share with friends. Don’t worry—it only takes a minute!

Step-by-Step Guide

Start by going to your dashboard and clicking on My Apps from the menu at the top right of your screen. This is where you’ll see all the apps you’ve created.

2. Pick the App You Want to Update

Find the app whose link you want to change. Click on the menu and go to Settings.

3. Go to Settings

Once you’re inside your app’s page, look for a tab or menu called Settings. Click it—this is where you can make changes to how your app works and looks.

4. Find the Slug Field

Scroll until you see a box or field labeled Slug. This box shows the current slug that’s being used in your app’s link.

5. Type in Your New Slug

Click inside the box and delete the old slug. Now, type the new one you’d like to use.

  • Keep it short and simple.
  • Avoid spaces or special characters (like !, @, or #).
  • Dashes (-) are fine if you want to separate words.

For example: instead of app12345, you could use my-drawing-app.

6. Save Your Changes

When you’re happy with your new slug, scroll down and click the Save button.

7. That’s It!

Your app’s link will update instantly with the new slug. Now, when you share your app, people will see the cleaner, updated link.
